[edit] Rollback
Hello A Softer Answer, I have granted rollback rights to your account. The reason for this is that, after a review of some of your contributions, I can trust you to use rollback correctly by using it for its intended use of reverting vandalism: I do not believe you will abuse it by reverting good-faith edits or to revert-war. For information on rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback and Wikipedia:Rollback feature. If you do not want rollback, just let me know, and I'll remove it. Good luck. Acalamari 00:41, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
- You're welcome for rollback: I looked at your edits and believed you needed it. :) You're also welcome for me suggesting you get the name change: after the name change, I also deleted the redirects to your new name so the troll wouldn't get redirected to you. :) I'm glad you're still around. [edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:83 Hours 'Til Dawn.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:83 Hours 'Til Dawn.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 04:49, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
- Resolved by adding link to article for which fair use was claimed.A Softer Answer (talk) 18:03, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] 'Issues with Regina Ress page
Regina Ress is a major figure in the storytelling world. I thought her info was relevant in an encyclopedia and contacted her. The article on her is not from her website (which by the way I wrote for her) and even if it was she gave it to me to put online. It was written specifically for wikipedia as a collaboration between she and I and the photo is one I took. There is nothing that infringes on copyrighting anywhere on it. Please stop adding a template that says otherwise. Also I thought that I should add links to her page and those of other major players in the storytelling world to pages such as Storytelling and Storytellers as they obviously are relevant but the first of those were deleted and your note said that they were not allowed. Why is this since actual storytellers are very much related to storytelling and storytellers? I am not some spammer trying to push a client. I am adding relevant information that I have had people ask for. Thank you in advance for your swift reply. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.202.111.18 (talk) 00:43, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
Ok I understand why you wouldnt want just a list of tellers on those pages. So what about placing a link to that list on the bottom of the storyteller and storytelling pages? It is likely that people looking up Storyteller and Storytelling would benefit from being able to find such a list easily when they type in something like Storyteller. Also I had planned to write a little history of how Diana Wolkstein Helped bring about the storytelling renaissance of the 1970's and such an article would include the names of tellers who were the foundations of this renaissance which would then be linked to the articles on those tellers. It would be a good addition as a history section of the storytelling article (there is a section titled "Storytelling as Artform" which touches on the renaissance but does not actually say why it happened or how it came about). Would such a use of names of the tellers who brought this about be removed as well? You brought up that anyone can edit the articles on wiki I assume to explain why you were able to remove the links i had put up. I think it's great people can edit everything but I don't see the point in simply blocking out things that someone who is actually in a certain field thinks is important to articles about that field.
Also some questions about what you think is copyrighted text. First off the wikipedia thing on copyrighted material states early on "we must often email or contact the copyright holders and ask them to allow us to use it under the GFDL or a GFDL-compatible license". The problem I have with that is that in this case it's not copyrighted at all and it was she herself who wanted me to put up what I did. I'm not sure how to prove to you that a copyright doesn't exist. It would seem to me that it is only possible to prove such a thing does exist and so the burden of proof would not be on those claiming it does not. In any event how can we use the line that appears in both places without having a big sign at the top calling our article plagiarism? if we choose to ignore the template will someone come along and remove the line or would there be no consequences other that a stupid box denouncing our ability to legally post what we created? [edit] Issues with KTUL page vandalism
Check the page history. It's not me doing the vandalism. Get your facts straight.
