[edit] category: Novels about real people
This category is useful; it is amazing no-one has put it out there before. Consider, by contrast Waltari's novels--historical enough but for the fact that the people in them need not have existed. It is very possible to research the times, even the real people, and not focus on them--then, threr are novels, some well researched, some not, that focus on real people, but in a story-telling way. Wait until some of E.L. Doctrow's work has been attended to--and when some of the other novels about Poe have their articles: the need for this catgeory will be clear. I have just performed a reversion for exactly the reasons asserted above. It is high time that useful, useful category changed colors. I have not gone through Wikipedia looking for places to put it, because I am acting in the good faith that the use of this category will cause the decision to be made on merit, not because I might manage to make a mark on enough sites to bring it about that way. I hope that my bet proves to be the right bet.Clown in black and yellow 21:58, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
