[edit] Overview

A Storm of Light is a recently formed post-metal band from New York City. The band is the brainchild of Josh Graham of Neurosis (but also Battle of Mice and Blood and Time), who decided to give birth to a new musical project after leaving the post-rock outfit Red Sparowes, which he helped found as a side project. Graham decided it was time for him to move on with something darker and heavier, in the vein of his main band, Neurosis, so he departed Red Sparowes as they were composing their third album. He immediately hooked up with ex-Tombs and Asea bassist Domenic Seita and Pete Angevine of Satanized on drums, to form A Storm of Light. Shorty after recording of a debut album had begun, Unsane and ex-Swans drummer Vinnie Signorelli joined the band on additional percussion. Josh Graham will handle all guitar and vocal parts for the band. Their debut album "And We Wept the Black Ocean Within" is scheduled for a May 19th release in Europe and a June 2nd release in America through Neurot Recordings. The band has also already been into touring mode since spring opening shows for Neurosis, Converge and Mastodon.

A Storm of Light will be opening all shows for Graham's mother band, Neurosis for their upcoming summer European tour.
