[edit] Thanks

Thank you for your fixes to NTFS. Your corrections were entirely accurate (not always the case in that article) and it was nice to see. --Yamla 15:36, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

No problem, and thanks. User:A Raider Like Indiana 19:29, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] ROTJ

Um, I'm not trying to scare you off, but there is a reason why the article has not been brought into FAC yet. It's not ready. It still needs to have it's references doubled up on and requires information on the box office performance. I'd withdraw the FAC, before we receive any oppositions as it's not going to go well. I can almost assure you of that being that I oversaw all of the other previous FACs on the Star Wars films. The Filmaker 03:34, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

  • You know what, the article does contain some box office information. Let's see if there are any complaints. The Filmaker 03:37, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
    • I don't appreciate the fact that you are referring to the nomination as a "Self-nomination" and including the phrase "I personally edited this page to add more content to expand this article to make it better than it was originally." Considering that you don't appear to have edited the page beyond the removal of a vandal's deletion template. It is particularly rude and not very bright to take credit for another person's (or group of persons) work especially without contributing in the slightest yourself. Wikipedia is very much a tight-knit community, and your actions will not be well-regarded. I'll give you the opportunity to change the page to avoid incident. The Filmaker 03:50, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition trial.png

How is my version blurry? Also, what do you mean by inferior quality? It's a lossless and pixel-to-pixel accurate PNG. --tyomitch 16:54, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

Having received no response from you, I'm reverting the image back. --tyomitch 09:38, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Talk:Windows 2000

Hello, it looks like I'm getting reverted by two editors, User:Warrens and User:Tyomitch on Windows 2000. Could you add your two cents to the talk page of Windows 2000? - Ta bu shi da yu 12:48, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Big girls don't cry editing

Hi, i'm an unregistered user of wikipedia and was wondering if you could help me with a question i want you to answer. In the article, "Big girls don't cry" (a song by Fergie) the section "Chart Performance" keeps getting deleted (the text) all about the song's performance on worldwide charts. I strongly believe that that article would be a really good one with that information, but people always delete it and it is really irritating me, so if you know why please let me know. Thanks —Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.101.48.239 (talk) 10:21, August 29, 2007 (UTC)

It needs to be shorten or rewritten. It is good, and the article should have it but; no one will read it because of its length. Try not not to go into as much detail with chart performances. A Raider Like Indiana 01:05, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Your sig

Hi. Your new sig is malformed (see [1]). You need to use the keyboard < and > keys and not the unicode numbers. Ask if you need a hand. -- Flyguy649 talk contribs 23:33, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Your AIV report

Hey, just letting you know I've removed your report regarding 70.189.118.126 (talk · contribs) for the time being; you mentioned a dynamic IP address, but I didn't see mention of other user(s) or page(s) involved, and the particular page mentioned in the report (Glacéau) didn't seem to have tooooo much recent activity. If I'm missing something, or if you can provide some diffs that might enlighten, feel free to let me know or submit another report. This isn't a lecture by any means, just the list was getting a bit crowded and tends to move fast. ;) Thanks for your time! – Luna Santin (talk) 23:56, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Rose DeWitt Bukater's date of death

Hello, A Raider Like Indiana. I'm certain that the reason that Rose's date of death was left as Unknown in that article, as well as not being specified in the Titanic article is because while a lot of (I would say most) people feel that she died at the end of that film, James Cameron stated, "It is to remain up to the viewer to decide weather Rose has passed away or is just dreaming." Therefore, we have no valid proof of when Rose died. I myself definitely feel that she died at the end of that film, just as Jack said that she would, and felt that it was/is a great foreshadowing instance in the film (as well as within all of cinema) and don't know why James Cameron wouldn't/won't just say, "Yeah, she died. It's true"...as I feel was his intention with that scene, but we cannot state that she died in 1997, when even James Cameron won't confirm it. I'm thinking you should change that back to Unknown. Flyer22 23:54, 15 October 2007 (UTC)

I went ahead and changed it back, and, of course, replied to the message you left for me on my talk page (before I changed it back), but it's pretty much the same thing that I stated here. Anyway, I'll see you around. Flyer22 03:02, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] "Their is no SE for the prequel trilogy"

Psh. Just wait. Haha. I didn't add that and wouldn't think it's appropriate, by the way, but it wouldn't nearly surprise me if they release a "special edition" in the not-too distant future for the PT. --lincalinca 01:38, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Userbox

The user box says you have over 10 contribs. You have 1000. I checked your edit count on that tool. ThundermasterTRUC 14:45, 22 December 2007 (UTC)

Vandal edit. I changed it back. Thank you for telling me. .A Raider Like Indiana (talk) 12:56, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Question

Hello A Raider Like Indiana, would you like the rollback feature added to your account? It's a tool that will help you revert vandalism more quickly. Acalamari 19:52, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

Rollback granted. :) Just remember it's for vandalism-reversion only. :) For information on rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback and Wikipedia:Rollback feature. Good luck. Acalamari 01:19, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Thank you!

Thank you, A Raider Like Indiana, for the Barnstar and the kind words. :) I appreciate the recognition. Acalamari 02:41, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

  • I'd be willing to give you some coaching, if that's what you mean. Acalamari 03:01, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
    • Here's User:Acalamari/Admin coaching/A Raider Like Indiana, and there's 12 questions to start with. Take your time to answer them, as there's no rush. There will be more questions after those 12. I think it may be a good idea to watchlist the page too. Acalamari 16:18, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
      • I know. :) However, first I'll have to review all those answers, and then we'll have to discuss them. The next set won't come until we've gone through them first. Acalamari 21:16, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
        • Thanks. :) Acalamari 01:47, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Protection

I semi-protected your page per your request at RFPP. I also blocked one of those IPs that was messing with your page. Either way, just let me know when/if you want the protection lifted. :) Jmlk17 23:12, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

Will do. And thank you, I appreciate it. A Raider Like Indiana (talk)

[edit] Microsoft Windows - Server 2008 Launch Date

Why did you revert my change of the launch date of Windows Server 2008. I changed it from "March 2008 (planned)" to "February 2008"?

In any case its been edited back to my change by other people.

I had removed vandalism eariler and may have deleted your correct information as well. I am sorry if I did. Also make sure you add your signature on talk pages. :) A Raider Like Indiana (talk) 00:06, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

OK thanks. I'm new to editing pages etc so here's my sig --Dj789 (talk) 13:11, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks for your support!

Hello, and thanks for your support in my recent RFA! The final result was 61/0/3, so I've been issued the mop! I'm extremely grateful for your confidence in me and will strive to live up to it. Thanks again! —Scott5114 [EXACT CHANGE ONLY] 07:32, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

Your welcome. :) A Raider Like Indiana (talk)

[edit] Tell me something

Why did you undo the things I had erased from my talk page? I demand an explanation--J.C. (talk) 02:55, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] SO...

what you have said is true, I admit it. But anyway, can I erase those messages? Are they old enough?--J.C. (talk) 01:56, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Ok then

Ok, i'll go on and erase my page. Thanks anyway. Now I can really be right if someone comes up to me and tells me I cannot erase my Talk page. As I don't want to keep anything, I'll erase it all. Thanks--J.C. (talk) 22:55, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Movie series order

Please see Talk:Star_Wars_Episode_IV:_A_New_Hope. So far WP:Concensus and Wikipedia policy seems to be against you so far. Dp76764 (talk) 21:48, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Re

I would remind you to read up on consensus and guidelines concerning ownership of articles. I have violated nothing, although, by your own stantards, you are in violation yourself since you're already reverting WITHOUT finishing the discussion. Thank you for your "commands", but they are without merit. TheRealFennShysa (talk) 22:01, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Windows template

Hey, let's have a conversation on Template talk:Microsoft Windows family and figure out what to do. It's a tricky because both you and Soum are right in what you're trying to do, but I think the real culprit here might actually be the articles themselves, which is making it harder to have a clear sense of what the template should contain. Going back and forth with duelling edits isn't going to solve it... I know we can work it out. :-) -/- Warren 19:33, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

Yes, we should figure something out. // A Raider Like Indiana 21:47, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] WP1.0

Sorry about that mixup! Your name seemed familiar, but I was quickly trying to welcome a few folks before I went to bed (yes, I was tired) and I saw the edit to your entry on the Participants page. Anyway - you mentioned Core Topics in that as your interest - can you tell me how you want to work in that area? Do you want to help improve some of the weaker core articles, or maybe to review core/vital articles for V0.7? Thanks, Walkerma (talk) 20:47, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

Hi! Our new Core Topics Collaboration is Boat. You mentioned that you're interested in helping with core articles - would you be able to help expand this article or clean it up! This important article really needs a lot of work. Thanks, Walkerma (talk) 02:46, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks...

[edit] My RfA...

Thank you...
...for your participation in my RFA, which closed with 85 supports, 2 neutrals and 1 oppose. I'm extremely grateful for all the the kind comments from so many brilliant Wikipedians I've come to respect and admire, as well as many others I've not yet had the pleasure of working with, and I'll do my best to put my shiny new mop and bucket to good use! Once again, thank you ;)

[edit] NTFS "superseded" FAT

I'm curious where you find a source which states that NTFS "follows" FAT rather than superseding it. Microsoft is rather insistent that FAT is deprecated. Tedickey (talk) 11:37, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

NTFS did not supersede FAT. FAT was targeted for the original Windows brand and NTFS was for the Windows NT line. When Microsoft released Windows XP, they were unofficially merged together. You can still use FAT, it's commonly used today, Microsoft is still giving updates to it making it still current like NTFS. They are two separate file systems. One does not supersede the other. They are not Operating Systems that go obsolete.// A Raider Like Indiana 23:27, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Correction to Windows 2000

May I correct you regarding the edits you made to the Windows 2000 article. According to this page, users who own a Windows 2000 license are eligible to buy the upgrade version of Windows Vista. That is, the license permits upgrading from Windows 2000. However, the setup routine for Vista does not support upgrading a Windows 2000 installation, it requires users to do a clean install. Are you getting the difference? That is what that article clearly mentioned. In fact the same thing applies to 'Windows XP Professional x64' too. Read what is written on that page:

"If you are currently using Windows 2000 Professional or Windows XP Professional x64, you are eligible for an upgrade copy to a corresponding or better edition of Windows Vista, but a clean install is required.

Upgrade copies are not available for versions of Windows earlier than Windows 2000. These earlier versions of Windows require you to install a full copy of Windows Vista."

And this is what I'd written in the Windows 2000 article: "While users of Windows 2000 are eligible to receive the upgrade license for Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008, neither of these operating systems can directly perform an upgrade installation from Windows 2000."

I hope it is clear now. :) Please verify the edits you make. Xpclient (talk) 18:47, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

But then the bottomline remains that there IS at least 1 way to upgrade to Windows 2000 and merely stating that it cannot be upgraded may create a wrong impression in the reader's mind. Rather, it would be better if whatever is the case is clearly written.
No probs. Thanks. :)

[edit] Thanks

For the comment on my talk page. Sorry for the slowness on the coaching page; I'll get some more questions for you soon (most likely tomorrow). Acalamari 20:18, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

I'd like to thank you, too, for the barnstar! :) —Scott5114 [EXACT CHANGE ONLY] 20:42, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
