Monty Roberts: A Real Horse Whisperer is a 1997 documentary film about the life and work of horse trainer Monty Roberts.
This documentary aired in the US on PBS and on QED in the UK (The BBC documentary on the story of Monty and Shy Boy is called, A Real Horse Whisperer). It showed Roberts as he set out to tame a wild mustang without enclosures.
According to the story, Monty’s first encounter with Shy Boy takes place in the high desert when he is still a wild horse. The film shows a three-day ride across 100 miles, and Monty tames the mustang.
Dr. Robert Miller, DVM supervised the horse handling and safety for the BBC documentary.
