A Region D

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Region D is one of the four A regions of the Virginia High School League. It is made up of three districts: the A Black Diamond District, the A Cumberland District, and the A Lonesome Pine District. The region is located in the far western part of Southwest Virginia, west of Region C's location.

As was the case with Region IV, the region was the smallest in Group A, due to high schools consolidating. Several schools were transferred from the southern part of the Region C to help balance the numbers. In addition, to make advancing to regional playoffs fairer, an additional district was created, the Clinch Mountain District.
