Talk:A Pimp Named Slickback
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The character has become notable as a result of his satirical representation of the pimp image in pop culture. He is often quoted on internet sites and is overall a humorous and significant aspect of the cartoon. The source of this article is the show itself. http://www.adultswim.com/shows/boondocks/ —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Vk231 (talk • contribs) 22 May 2006 (UTC)
- I suggest that a sentence or two of this article be merged into The Boondocks (TV series) or List of The Boondocks episodes in the appropriate subsection. I don't see much of a reason for this subject to have his own article, considering he's had only one significant appearance and his notability isn't really separate from that of the TV show. [edit] Censorship
There seem to be too many quotes in the personality section - eg "homie" and "ho" really don't need quote marks.
And why are some of the words in the series appearances section censored with *'s?
I haven't seen this on any other Boondocks pages, any any other Wikipedia pages, for that matter... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.137.93.129 (talk) 10:45, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
- I have no idea why the censorship is present. If I don't see any WP:Policies regarding it I may correct it. In order to you know, "preserve the integrity of the quote" and what not.~Noctrine(talk) 14:17, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
Well the line has to be drawn somewhere. The quotes are not supposed to distract people from the main points in the article, and a limit to how explicit the article is has to be set in order for it to be neutral.Mcelite (talk) 16:18, 17 March 2008 (UTC)mcelite
- How would de-censoring the article effect its neutrality? I honestly doubt that people will ignore the content of an article simply because there are a few curse words in it Noctrine (talk) 16:57, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
