A Picture of Nectar is Phish's fifth studio album. It was released on February 12, 1992, and was Phish's major-label debut, appearing on Elektra Records.
It is the only Phish studio album to feature a song by another artist: "Manteca" by jazz legend Dizzy Gillespie.
The album's title comes from the name of the club owner Nectar Rorris who owned Nectar's in Burlington, Vermont where Phish played many of their first live shows.
Many of the songs on the album became fan-favorites and live staples. "Tweezer" and "Chalkdust Torture" were both featured regularly at Phish concerts, and parts of "The Landlady" would show up in live performances of "Punch You in the Eye". "Stash" also became noted for its extended Trey Anastasio guitar solo.
The cover photograph was taken by B. C. Kagan.
The album was certified gold by the RIAA on November 15, 2001.
