The 2008-09 season in the Bulgarian A PFG (Professional Football Group) will start on 9 August 2008.
The defending champion is CSKA Sofia. Clubs that were promoted from the second division (B PFG) are Lokomotiv Mezdra, PFC Sliven and Minyor Pernik.
The 2008-09 season in the Bulgarian B PFG (Professional Football Group) starts a week after A PFG.
