[edit] Character History

A girl of ethnic Miao people, she is the daughter of the White Miao Clan and apprentice of a traditional medicine guru who is a friend of Li Xiaoyao's masters at Shu-Shan Sword martial arts faction. She met Li while he was on his quest to gather ingredients to help Zhao Ling'er's childbirth and Lin Yueru's recover.

Li, in his unconscious state after falling off hundreds of meters off a tree where he found the phoenix egg, mistakenly hugged and kissed A Nu as he thought she was Zhao Ling'er. She joins Li and Zhao's quest in defending her homeland and defeating the leader of the Cult of Moon Worshippers, who planned to take over the Black Miao Clan and then the world. After the battle, she farewelled the departing Li Xiaoyao with a flute tune.

She makes a cameo appearance in the first sequel to the original game, The Legend of Sword and Fairy 2, as the reigning chief of the White Miao. She came to celebrate Li Yiru's birthday and gave her a magical tool. It is also implied that she might also came with the intention of meeting Li Xiaoyao again.

[edit] Charateristics

A Nu is a very frisky girl and in the TV series, she loves to eat anything and so her "teacher" (which later her mother) put a spell on her that whenever she eats a lot, she will start to grow beard. In the game, she appears a little bossy over some people of Miao since she is the daughter of the leader of the Miao. She is also a frisky girl in the game and she is one of the survivors in the game at the end, after the final battle where in the TV series she did not.

[edit] Relationships

Her initial encounter with Li caused her to have feelings for Li, but knowing Li is married to Zhao, she kept her feelings inside.

In the TV version, A Nu begins to be really cheeky with Tang Yu and making fun of him all the time. But after Tang Yu lost both of his arms, she falls in love with Tang Yu. However, in the end they both perished. And the two of them reincarnate as a couple of birds in the mortal realm.

[edit] Ending

A Nu leaves the person she loves to lead her people to prosperity and peace.
