[edit] Plot summary

Andre Shame (Keenen Ivory Wayans) is a private detective formerly of the LAPD, who left after failing to crack the case on drug lord Ernesto Mendoza (Andrew Divoff). He must also do this without becoming romantically entangled with his ex-girlfriend Angela (Salli Richardson), who also was previously involved with Mendoza. However when Sonny Rothmiller (Charles S. Dutton), Shame's ex-colleague who is now working for the DEA, tells him that the Mendoza case is being re-opened, Shame can't help but begin a personal investigation. This time, hopefully, Shame won't embarrass his private investigative talents by becoming sidetracked by a renewed romance.
