[edit] History
LSOB was formed in 1990 by Robert Gutierrez, AKA ODM (One Dope Mexican) and Bobby Ramirez, alias DTTX (Don't Try to Xerox).[1] They recorded demos and landed a record deal soon after, debuting with the 1991 disc Brown and Proud. After their second LP, 1992's Hip Hop Locos, they provided songs for Latino-market movies such as Mi Vida Loca and I Like It Like That. Their chart performance (which included "On a Sunday Afternoon", a #1 hit in New Zealand for two weeks in 1992) netted them a deal with major label Mercury Records, who released their third disc, Layin' in the Cut, in 1994. Their earlier hit "On a Sunday Afternoon", a success in the U.S., was written by David Dunson & Micah Carson. The music video was directed by Alan Calzatti. The album did not sell as well as was hoped, and the group went on a temporary hiatus,[1] returning in 1997 on indie Thump Records. The self-titled fourth album featured guest appearances from Rappin' 4-Tay and Dwayne Wiggins of Tony Toni Tone. 1999 marked the last of their releases, including a greatest hits album and a single, "Sunny Day", that failed to chart. In 1999, Gutierrez became a DJ at a San Bernardino radio station.[1]. The group had reunited with a third member. It is not sure if a new album has been confirmed. But on the myspace profile it declares a long anticipated album is under way between the years 2007 and 2008
