Filthy Rich: A Fieldguide to a Dangerous Species is a book by Peter Robbins that explores and analyses the habits of rich people.

The book contains a large number of facts about the behaviour of rich people which are drawn together from a range of sources, but predominantly from The Guardian newspaper. The rationale for this is that, since rich people are unlikely allow anthropologists into their gated communities, it is only from piecing together numerous separate accounts that it is possible to gain an insight into their motivations.

The book examines the rich much as an anthropologist would approach any social group, but also goes on to examine how they control the world, what impact they're having and how they can be got rid of. Its light-hearted approach to a relatively serious political subject makes it more comparable to books such as No Logo and Stupid White Men than to more academic books on similar subjects such as Affluenza.

Numerous celebrities, politicians and business people feature in the book including Paris Hilton, Donald Trump, and the Sultan of Brunei. Very few of these people are described favourably but, due to the exclusive use of sources already in the public domain libel suits are against the author and publisher are unlikely.
