[edit] Plot summary

Bright isn't happy with all the red tape imposed by Side 6 on his ship. He figures the neutral government wants them out. He says they’ll depart as soon as repairs on the ship are complete and Amuro returns to base.

Inside Riah, Amuro is driving when he’s caught by a sudden rainfall, forcing him to seek refuge. He stops by a house near a small lake. A strange intuition makes him walk around the corner of the house. There he sees a dark-skinned girl, perhaps a little older than him, watching a bird die in midair. They have a small conversation and the rain stops. She tells Amuro he has beautiful eyes and walks out of the porch.

As the Zanzibar docks in Riah, Mulligan asks Char why they separated from the Coskon fleet. Char says that Dozle and Coskon don’t have the same perspective that Kycilia has, and that they will soon use Lalah in battle.

The White Base‘s crew are surprised that the Zanzibar has docked right next to them. An outraged Hayato wants to exact revenge for Ryu, but Bright forbids anyone from jumping ship or starting up a fight on neutral ground. Char gets off the ship and is warned by District Attorney Cameron Bloom not to engage in battle with any Federation Forces soldiers.

Amuro visits his father Tem, who asks about the Gundam’s upgrade module. Amuro lies saying it’s great, motivating Tem into saying he’ll make better modules. Amuro is close to tears as he drives away and thinks about the last time he saw his father at Side 7.

His car, however, gets stuck in the mud. A car drives by and splashes mud on Amuro. By pure coincidence, the people inside the car are none other than Char and the dark-skinned girl (Lalah). Amuro’s never met Char, but he’s sure it’s the Red Comet. Char apologizes for the mud and Lalah’s driving, and ties a rope on Amuro’s car so it’s towed out of the mud. They ask each other’s names, and Amuro confirms it’s Char.

Char points out that Amuro hasn’t thanked him and quickly does so before driving away in a hurry. Char wonders why Amuro was so nervous, and Lalah says it's because Amuro probably recognized Char as the Red Comet.

On White Base, Cameron offers his personal ship to escort them out of Side 6 territory. Mirai says he just wants to prove useful to her. An argument develops but is stopped by Sleggar when he slaps Mirai. He tells her she should appreciate what Cameron is doing, by putting his life in danger. He tells Cameron not to let Mirai push him around. A confused Mirai is winked at by Sleggar.

Both ships head out of the colony, but Coskon is waiting and orders his Rick Doms to attack. The Rick Doms fly around Cameron’s ship, and the pilot panics. Bright asks Cameron to leave but refuses. Mirai says he’s already proven himself and Cameron agrees to leave. Amuro immediately attacks the Rick Doms and destroys them. Tem is watching a live TV broadcast and is amazed by the Gundam’s performance. Kai and Sleggar fire the main cannon and destroy a Musai, and Amuro destroys the remaining Rick Doms.

Bright asks Cameron again to leave. Mirai tells him he’s proven himself already. Cameron agrees and flies by the bridge, and says goodbye to Mirai one last time. Bright is surprised by Amuro’s expert performance. Coskon is shocked by his losses and orders his ship to ram White Base.

Char and Lalah are watching the battle, and Lalah says the Gundam is going to win. Char notices that the Gundam isn’t even on screen. Lalah smiles and says that is why he chose her as a pilot. Amuro figures out the enemy ship’s weak spots and sinks his beam sabers into the ship, destroying it. Tem maniacally cheers the Gundam’s victory, and a crying Amuro says goodbye to Side 6.
