Talk:A Different World (song)

That second paragraph saying this song is "a reminiscence of Covington's formative years" is a bunch of hooey. First, Covington isn't one of the songwriters for this song. Second, Covington was born in 1977 and many of the things the songs sings about - lead paint, only 3 television channels, school prayer, etc. - were ancient history by the time Covington grew up. The reminiscences in the song are more appropriate for someone born in the 1940's or 1950's.

[edit] exactly

Glad I'm not the only one who noticed that. I knew this guy had to be about my age (turns out he's exactly my age), and even though the world's changed quite a bit from when I was a kid, nobody my age experienced half of the stuff in this horrid little pseudo-nostalgic song. Gag me with an eight track.
