From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

American synthesis Dano S began composing instrumental electronic music under the brand A Distant Signal in the late 1980s. Part-time member and bassist Chaz Smith also contributes to the band's studio material and live performances.

The music of A Distant Signal can be classified in several different genres depending on the listener's interpretation including electronic music, progressive, avant-garde, symphonic, new age, ambient, electronica or space rock.

The core of the music is based around traditional or "classic electronic music" with a definite lean towards heavy melodies, chord progressions, arpeggio sequences and rhythms.

In the 1990s, Dano S also composed music for theater and corporate branding projects in addition to producing music for A Distant Signal.

A Distant Signal releases are on the independent music label Random Wave Music.
