Factor 5: A Convenient Truth

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Factor 5: A Convenient Truth: Increasing Wealth and Reducing Resource Use is a forthcoming book which will focus on reductions in resource use through increased efficiency. Increased resource efficiency will help to ensure long term sustainable prosperity for the global economy, especially when coupled with design and process improvements. This approach has often led to increased production yields, lower capital and operating costs, and decreased maintenance and repair of infrastructure. In short, it will assist in making a transition toward a sustainable future. Factor 5 is targeted at the new generation of engineers, entrepreneurs and politicians who are facing global warming and other environmental challenges. Factor 5 will involve a team of authors and contributors led by Professor Ernst von Weizsacker.[1]

Factor 5 is to be published by Earthscan Publishing (London), Shanghai Century Publishing (China), and Droemer Knaur (Munich). Factor 5 is a follow-up book to Factor 4, which was translated into 12 languages and has been an international success. Factor 4 remained on the Earthscan bestsellers list for eight years.[1]
