"A cause" (meaning "Because") is the third and last single released in France from Céline Dion's French album D'elles. It was sent to the radio stations on January 21, 2008. At the same time "Alone" was released to promote Dion's English album Taking Chances.[1] Both tracks were included on the "A cause" promotional single.
"A cause" was written by Françoise Dorin ("Et s'il n'en restait qu'une (je serais celle-là)") and Jacques Veneruso ("Sous le vent," "Tout l'or des hommes," "Contre nature," "Je ne vous oublie pas," "Tous les secrets," "Immensité," "Le temps qui compte"), who also produced this track.
Céline Dion performed it during the French TF1 TV special dedicated to the issue of her album D'elles, in May 2007. She also performed "A cause" on Vivement Dimanche during her visit in France, in November 2007. It will be broadcasted on France 2 in May 2008, during the French leg of Taking Chances Tour.
"A cause" was remixed by Dj Rien - French producent, compositor and remixer.
There was no music video made for this track.
The song already appeared on the French Top 100 Airplay Chart in September 2007, without being officially released, and peaked at number 76.
D'elles includes also another version of "A cause," called "On s'est aimé à cause." It was recorded with music by Marc Dupré and Jean-François Breau, and produced by Tino Izzo. This version includes the original lyrics written by Françoise Dorin, which were modified to fit the danceable arrangement of "A cause." In August 2007, "On s'est aimé à cause" was released as a radio single in Quebec. Radio stations in France started to play it at the end of January 2008, together with "A cause." As a result, "On s'est aimé à cause" peaked at numer 69 on the French Top 100 Airplay Chart.
The cover of the promotional single uses photo taken during the Taking Chances photoshoot.
