"A Broken Wing" is a song recorded by country pop artist Martina McBride. It appears on McBride's 1997 CD, Evolution, hitting #1 on the Billboard country music charts on January 10, 1998. It was also released as a CD single. The song was also featured on McBride's 2001 Greatest Hits album.
The song has been often covered by contestants who participated on American Idol: Diana DeGarmo on Season 3, Jessica Sierra on Season 4, and more recently by Jordin Sparks (twice) on Season 6 (Sparks later released a recording of it on her 2007 Jordin Sparks EP). It was also covered on Canadian Idol by Season 3 winner, Melissa O'Neil as one of her final 2 performances. It was covered by singer Taylor Horn for her debut album, taylor-made in 2002.
