The A7 highway (Croatian: Autocesta A7) is a highway in western Croatia. Currently, only two short sections exist. The first section is between the Slovenian border and Matulji, where the A7 connects to the B8 expressway. The second section between the A6 highway interchange at Orehovica and the town of Križišče was opened in December 2006. This section is 8.5 km (5.3 mi) long and includes 13 viaducts and 3 tunnels, and was due to the challenging terrain one of the most expensive highways to build in Croatia. The section between Matulji (B8 connection) and Orehovica (A6 connection) currently is a 2-lane, grade separated single carriageway bypass around Rijeka. Plans exist to upgrade this secion to a full 4-lane motorway in the near future. The section between Križišče and the A1 connection at Žuta Lokva is planned to be opened in 2009.
