Associazione Sportiva Pescina Valle del Giovenco[1] is an Italian football club located in Pescina, Abruzzo, but temporarly playing in Avezzano, Abruzzo. Its colors are white and blue. The club chairman is Giovanni Lombardi Stronati, who is also owner of Serie A club A.C. Siena.
Promoted from Eccellenza in 2006 after playoffs, Valle del Giovenco gained a second consecutive promotion on April 22, 2007 by winning the Round F of Serie D in advance of four matchdays. The club will therefore play Serie C2 in 2007-2008.
Following the promotion, the club started a rebranding process which included relocation to Avezzano and a denomination change to Valle del Giovenco Avezzano, which is still to be accepted by the Italian Football Federation that still considers the club to be located in Pescina.[1] Despite this, the club already define themselves as representative of the city of Avezzano, starting from their official website, and changed their own crest featuring now a wolf in white and green colours, clearly reminiscent of the now-defunct Nuova Avezzano Calcio franchise.
