A. G. Hopkins

Anthony G. Hopkins (February 21, 1938–) is a British historian.
Dr. Hopkins is a historian of imperialism, and has made significant contributions to the study of globalization and world history. In 1996 he was elected to the British Academy Fellowship. He has served as Professor of Economic History at the University of Birmingham; Smuts Professor of Commonwealth History at the University of Cambridge (1994-2002), and was Emeritus Fellow of Pembroke College, Cambridge. As of 2002, he is the Walter Prescott Webb Professor of History at the University of Texas at Austin.
