A1 Volleyball

The A1 Volleyball League is a professional league competition for volleyball clubs located in Greece. It is overseen by the Greek volleyball federation. It is currently a 12 team league that plays a 22 game schedule. The regular season is followed by playoffs, with the winner earning the title.

  • An early championship, called « Panhellenic », was held between 1936 and 1968, but for only a total of 12 seasons. Indeed, it was interrupted by the Second World War and the Greek Civil War and did not become regular until 1968. It was then renamed the national championship.
