A1 is the first private television channel in the Republic of Macedonia.

A1 Television was founded on 22, January 1993, as the first private and independent TV station in Macedonia. The current number of employees is approximately 100 (managing and editorial board, journalists, reporters, announcers, technical stuff, marketing, administration) and a large number of corespondents and external cooperators. A1 TV included all types of TV expression - Information, Culture, Arts, Documentaries, Entertainment, Sports and Children's program. The main element is the Informative program - central news bulletins at 19:00 and 22:00, short news every hour, round tables, interviews and dialogues.

According to the recent polls of the Macedonian people,A1 TV is the most watched TV Broadcaster in the Republic of Macedonia.It is even more watched than the Macedonian Radio Television.In 2001 A1 TV was the first television station that broke the news about the 2001 Macedonian conflict in February 2001,when its journalist Snezana Lupevska and the television crew ,who were intending to do a report about the life in that area, were taken by the armed ethnic Albanian guerilla gunmen in the North Macedonian village of Tanusevci, on the Macedonian-Kosovo border.

Having been successful all those years,in terms of broadcasting A1 evening news were the most watched TV event in Republic of Macedonia.At the end of 2006 A1 TV announced a new TV satellite service that will be available for whole world, called A1 Plus.Today that service broadcasts some of the original channel news,events,documentaries,music shows and movies.
