"Similar sentiments were also echoed by others who accused A-Mei of selling out to mainland China."

I removed this statement because it is too vague. Please be more specific, namely, include what events illustrate these "sentiments". --Jiang 05:45, 14 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Understood. I was refering to statements by various politicians as well as things posted on Taiwan messageboards. I'll see if I can find some sources to post. --Loren 03:44, 16 Aug 2004 (UTC)

"... a sultry voice reminiscent of Mariah Carey's."

To say that someone has a voice reminiscent of Mariah Carey's is a fairly bold statement! I don't wish to offend any A-Mei fans, but I don't think this is the case. If it is, sincere apologies. If someone could state where this was said, that would be great.

The word "china" itself can be perfectly understandable. "Mainland china" is a possible "chinglish" (rough translation) term. I do not see how "mainland" is necessary; nevertheless, "mainland" could also cause confusion. It misleads and giving a false idea that “china” could mean other “china (P.R.C.)” than we all know. Please, stop trying to influence original English with other foreign language.

Mainland China is the English term used in this part of the world.

Can the English translations of the song/album names be cited/verified? 219.77.110.110 13:45, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] YouTube links

This article is one of thousands on Wikipedia that have a link to YouTube in it. Based on the External links policy, most of these should probably be removed. I'm putting this message here, on this talk page, to request the regular editors take a look at the link and make sure it doesn't violate policy. In short: 1. 99% of the time YouTube should not be used as a source. 2. We must not link to material that violates someones copyright. If you are not sure if the link on this article should be removed, feel free to ask me on my talk page and I'll review it personally. Thanks. ---J.S (t|c) 07:09, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
