[edit] A-League Version 3 Player Transfers (2007/08)
This section is going to be huge by the time the season actually starts. I'm in favour of deleting it or moving each sub-section to the individual club article, and just list notable transfers here. -- Chuq 22:20, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
I think don't delete it, but move it to a specific page with links off the A-League 2007-08 page, something like "Squads for the A-League 2007-08 Season" and include players who have agreed to resign as well, or who are still under contract.
Draw is out on Monday!!!
Tintin1989 02:07, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
- Monday! Didn't realise it was so soon.
- In the past each team (well, most) have had a season article (e.g. Melbourne Victory Season 2006-07) which would also be suitable. Ideally information would not be duplicated (eg. for the above example, Melbourne Victory FC and A-League 2006-07) - but summarisation in both of the above would be fine.
- Wherever it ends up, it should be consistent across teams and seasons. Central Coast Mariners FC is a feature article which would be an excellent example to follow. -- Chuq (talk) 06:05, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
-
- Now that the fixture list is out, I think it would be a good time to do the splitting off to team-season articles. (eg. Sydney FC season 2007-08, Melbourne Victory season 2007-08, etc) -- Chuq (talk) 10:34, 23 April 2007 (UTC)

- On that note, who wants to move the season articles to lower "s"? Daniel Bryant 01:56, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
- Seems like Chuq's already done it - thanks! Daniel Bryant 02:02, 24 April 2007 (UTC)

- I'm adding them to the the club-specific season articles at the moment. I'll remove them from the main season with links when finished. --Canley 13:12, 24 April 2007 (UTC)

- I just went through all the articles to make sure that everything was there. I have moved the transfers section off this page. --Squilibob 11:53, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Pre-Season Cup (2007/08)
The Sunday Telegraph has reported the crowd for the Glory/Jets game as "approx 2,700", yet here it is said to be 5000+. Which is most accurate. Seeing as the crowd last year at the same venue was 2822, I feel the Telegraph is probably correct. 210.50.30.213 02:17, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Football box template
I've converted the pre-season cup fixtures from a table to the Template:footballbox format, which shows the same information but also includes goals scored, scorers and times. If you don't like it, revert to the previous version. If this is OK, I'll convert the rest of the season fixtures to this format soon. --Canley 10:33, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Pre-Season Challenge Cup
Should the Pre-Season Challenge Cup be moved to its own article? It's long and everyone is going to be scrolling past it to get to the regular season stuff from now on. --Squilibob 01:15, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
- I've been bold and spun the pre-season cup off into a seperate sub-article. --Canley 12:33, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah good work, I think its better like that. Jared Wiltshire 13:08, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Interactive table
I see a problem in the last table which includes information on attendances when you choose to sort the table by any of the tabs , average, highest, lowest, ect. The Total moves as well as the teams. I suggest you find a way to keep the Total rooted at the bottom of the table instead of mixing in with the rest of the teams when sorting them using the top tabs --djpower 06:55, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
- Fixed. --Squilibob 12:22, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Inaccurate data
It seems that the count of attendance in the box towards the top. I have a stat tracker on my PC which I update every week with the scores etc of the match round. It has the total attendance at 487,460. Is there a source where the figure in the box (currently 477,331) is coming from? --Chalk —Preceding comment was added at 03:12, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
- This is my error, I had made a mistake putting Wellington's attendance in Central Coast's line in the attendance section on the page. While I fixed the table at the bottom of the page, I forgot to change the figure at the top of the page to match. To answer your question, I have recently been using #expr to add all the rounds together in the attendance table. This seems to work well as you can count how many games have been hosted as well. Double checking the figures is pretty easy and this came in handy last round because the A-League website had incorrectly stated attendance two times on the weekend. --Squilibob 10:04, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] top score table
The legend in the top scorers table isn't showing up properly. To get some experience, if someone can fix this up, could explain how on my talk page! Thanx Drizzt Jamo 03:27, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] League Table as of 4/1 After Syd v Wel
I redid the table so that Sydney are in second. Sydney and CCM have the same points, goal difference and goals for but as per the third sorting criteria sydney are in second as they have beaten CCM twice this season. This may or may not change depending on other results this weekend. Higdawg 21:20, 4 January 2008 (AEDT)
- I haven't been applying those rules until both teams had played the same number of games. Same thing probably happened last week with Central Coast and Queensland. Doesn't matter either way. --Squilibob (talk) 10:39, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
- Queensland have a better goal difference and it was 1 goal better than CCM i think before they lost last week. Higdawg 10:43, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
Other sports tables highlight playoff qualifiers. This is complicated for us as the premiers would need to be a different colour (qualifies for finals and ACL competition) than the 2nd-4th place getters. Should we do this?
Don't really think its necessary as its relatively well known and can easily be made obvious through a small section about the ACL. If it was like the top 2 or something than maybe, but since its just who finished 1st (and in the case of last year where the premiers in fact win the championship). --Chalkstar2188 (talk) 10:12, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] New infobox
Sorry for being bold in making such a major change without discussion, but I have changed the infobox to use {{Infobox sports season}}. I've made some changes to the template to accommodate a few things we would need (champions/premiers names, etc). The remaining details that are not on the template can either be added to the infobox or deemed unnecessary and removed completely. What do people think? -- Chuq (talk) 10:06, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
