The 9th World Scout Jamboree, also known as the Jubilee Jamboree, was held at at Sutton Park, England, in 1957. It marked two milestones-the 50th anniversary of the Scouting movement since its inception at Brownsea Island, and the 100th anniversary of the birth of Lord Baden Powell.
On the same dates, the 6th World Rover Moot and the 2nd World Scout Indaba were held. The event was also called JIM (Jamboree-Indaba-Moot).
During this jamboree, Les Mitchell had the idea of Jamboree On The Air.
