[edit] Your recent edits

Hi, there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button Image:Wikisigbutton.png located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot 23:25, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Category:Native American tribes

I noticed you added this category for many tribes. There is no need to do so as this is a parent category for existing ones, e.g. "Category:Native American tribes in Wyoming". Please revert your changes. Solarapex 12:29, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

I'm going to revert these changes, and will use the admin revert button to do so. I'm using this feature because it is the easiest way to mass-undo these changes, but I am not doing this as an admin action, but as another editor. In general, when we can place things down in sub-categories, we do not also place them in the parent categories. - TexasAndroid 17:21, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Category blanking

Ok, I see what you are doing. But instead of just blanking the category, the best option would be to put it up for deletion. Otherwise it will just sit around here remaining blank. I'd recommend putting it up for speedy deletion once it has had no articles within the category for four days. See WP:CSD#Categories. Let me know if you have any other questions on it. --Nehrams2020 07:15, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Category:Dentifrices

I appreciate your effort in trying to merge Category:Dentifrices and Category:Brands of toothpaste, but I have had to undo your changes because the two are certainly not the same in English. In French they may mean the same thing, but in English dentifrice can refer to anything used to clean the teeth, not just toothpaste. Please see the Wiktionary entry for "dentifrice" for clarifications. Thanks! Resurgent insurgent 02:09, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

The reason we keep toothpastes in their own category is that there are too many articles on toothpastes. When there are too many articles in a category we will assign some articles to a sub-category, which is what we have here. It is normal and not wrong for toothpastes category to exist, as a sub-category of dentifrices (we're just saying "toothpaste is a type of dentifrice, as are mouthwash, etc.").
