[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Donaldduckfindspirategold.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Donaldduckfindspirategold.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. [edit] World War II jokes
- Free France was not a state >> Government in exile, Free French Forces
- Vichy France was not at war with the Allies >> fr:Légion des volontaires français, 33rd Waffen Grenadier Division of the SS Charlemagne (1st French), Operation Torch (1942)
- France re-entered in 1944 >> de Gaulle declaring war to Japan in December 8 1941(*), Battle of Bir Hakeim 1942, Casablanca Conference (1943), Free French French SAS of the "CLI" fighting the Japanese in Indochina (1943-1945), Allied leaders of World War II
- these never existed right, you are a funny guy aren't you? Paris By Night 21:58, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
- Not quite sure what you are talking about. A government in exile is not a state. Contributing volunteers is not the same as being at war (see Spanish Civil War, Axis powers of World War II#Spain, etc.). Vichy France did not act as part of the Axis in Operation Torch. France as a state, not as de Gaulle's army, re-entered in 1944 when the French patriots and not the Vichy traitors won the territory that is France back. French-language pages don't teach me anything as I don't understand the language. Acting after consensus doesn't make you a funny guy. Have a good day. 96T 14:16, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
- why leclerc signed the armistice with japan in september 2 1945? hmm? because de gaulle declared war to germany in december 8 1941 following pearl harbor. so how leclerc was able to sign the armistice if de gaulle's free france does not existed as a state? you pointed it correctly about french language, i know things that you don't know. Paris By Night 15:16, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
- FYI back in 1944 eisenhower told to de gaulle you can proclaim the republic, de gaulle answered what for? the republic never ceased to exist. actually albert lebrun who was the head of the third republic before petain's state of france (petain was not president of the republic but "chief of state") did not left presidency in 1940. source in french >> the french presidency official website, not less. Paris By Night 15:25, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
- France as of 1944 continued what the Free French had started, I suppose. Free France 1940-44 is defined in its article as "French fighters (...) who decided to continue fighting Axis forces" and a de jure (but not de facto) government. But, very well, as the Allies considered Free France the legitimate French government, I reverted the template thing back to showing France as an Ally from 1939 to 1945, the way it was before someone started messing things up. Have a good day. 96T 15:29, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
- the case is not solved anyway. because it is a complex one. Paris By Night 16:48, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
- As it is now, both the Allied French state and Free France are listed (Free France in the list of Resistance Movements). Vichy France was certainly not an Ally and not formally part of the Axis (Tripartite Pact) and not a major co-belligerent. So I see no reason why it should be added to the listings. The template is meant to only be a brief overview of WWII anyway, and you can read about Vichy France vs Free France in the military history of France during World War II article, which is linked to from the template. So I don't see any complex case really. 96T 17:31, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Lostintheandes.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Lostintheandes.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. [edit] Your thoughts
- I asked you a question at Template talk:Religion in South Park, not sure if you are still watching its talk page. Curt Wilhelm VonSavage 23:57, 25 October 2007 (UTC).
[edit] It was discussed, wasn't it?
The merging of Shelley Marsh and Marvin Marsh's articles into the main South Park Families page. There had better have been a discussion verifying that the articles should meld in with the main page, or else I'm putting them back up... I'll wait for your response? Wilhelmina Will 20:54, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
- There was a consensus not so long ago, [here], to merge all South Park minor characters into lists. Since such important characters as Wendy and Timmy and Token and Tweek etc. ended up on such pages, I didn't see any reason why much less relevant characters such as these two shouldn't as well. Anyway, I avoided removing any information from the articles, so I don't see why there should be a problem, really. It is actually my opinion that too many SP characters have been merged into lists, but one should instead try to write decent stand-alone articles on the important characters (such as the four I've mentioned), instead of keeping the ones on much less important characters (such as our two Marsh friends). 96T 21:51, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

- Yeah, thanks for sorting it out. Good that someone are less lazy than me (I was considering searching through the history to find deleted sections, but well, I didn't). A pity that the article on the Mighty Fall is in such a poor state though. In a fair world, it'd be a FA. 96T 21:27, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Teamantonsen.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Teamantonsen.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template.
