Welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your comments, which you added in discussion at Jack Deth. Please note that on Wikipedia, consensus is determined by discussion, not voting, and it is the quality of arguments that counts, not the number of people supporting a position. Consider reading about the deletion policy for a brief overview for the deletion process, and how we decide what to keep and what to delete. We hope you decide to stay and contribute even more. [edit] Unimpressed
Wikipedia is getting so boring. A lot of the pages are too rich in text. There should be a bigger fair use policy for pictures. Furthermore, every time I edit something, whether it be a wrestling personality or somebody, a mod just reverts my contributions for no reason. Also, I made a page called Jack Deth about a character who appears in multiple films. There are far worse articles on here that have nothing, but are still remaining. What gives? This has to be said. Beyond a joke, well and truly. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.235.160.40 (talk) 08:39, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- Hello, and welcome. Please put new topics at the end of discussion pages, it makes chronological order much easier to follow. What do you mean by too rich in text? As in, they waffle? They use too many words to say a simple thing? You may be better off starting a topic at the Village pump - that's the place for general discussion, this talk page is mostly for discussing editing changes to the Community Portal. Also, what exactly do you mean by 'bigger fair use policy'? More words in the policy, more clearly defined? Or one with more room for interpretation? Or one that includes more images?
- If your contributions keep getting reverted, it may be because they didn't conform to one or more of our policies on editing. They may have included common errors, such as addressing the reader with the second person pronoun (such as talking about a game, "You can use this item to cast spells" rather than "The player can use this item"), been non-neutral or tried to convince the reader of an idea, original research (such as your opinion on something, or your own analysis of a topic), contained too much trivia, or not verifiable. However, be bold, remember to always use edit summaries and don't get discouraged. Creating an account may also help you - you get preferences, your own name on the History tab of pages (so your contributions can be identified and praised) and much more respect in discussions and editing decisions. Many editors are very quick to distrust anonymous editors, since many of them turn out to be vandals.
- About that article, Jack Deth - you may be interested to view the discussion that took place when somebody nominated the article for deletion. The reasons why it was not deemed worthy of inclusion are there - you can contest this if you like. A better idea would probably be to take content from the most recent version of Jack Deth before it was redirected, and merge it by yourself into the article Trancers, or any other relevant article. Getting an account before you do this will lend you some credibility if another editor objects - it's really a good idea. If you have any other problems, contact me on my own talk page, and I'll see if I can help you out. —Vanderdecken∴ ∫ξφ 18:27, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
