[edit] RE: Clapton

I read your lengthy rant. If you'll read Talk:Eric Clapton#"Controversy" section carefully, you will see that I have argued that the controversy should not be hacked down to a sentence or two, but also that there should be balance of different points of view. Here is the bottom line regardless of the whatever opinions you may have about the Clapton controversy. A core policy of Wikipedia is that content of an article, especially when there are differences of opinion, is determined by consensus. At this time the consensus is that the controversy section should not be expanded. If you feel strongly about the matter, the appropriate procedure is for you to raise the issue on Talk:Eric Clapton and wait for other opinions to see if the consensus changes. For that reason, I have moved your addition to my talk page to the Clapton talk page. If you wish to follow up with additional comments, that page is the most appropriate venue rather than my talk page. That having been said, let me caution you against something known in Wikipedia as POV-pushing. Other important core principles of Wikipedia are that articles should be written from a neutral point of view, that unverifiable original research should not be included, and that controversies have an appropriate balance. Based on the length and wording of your essay on my talk page, you appear to have a lot of feelings about the issue. That is not necessarily a bad thing, but it does add a responsibility on you that you need to be very careful not to push your point of view excessively when there are other opinions. Thanks.
