[edit] Waffenfarbe
An editor has nominated this article for deletion, see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Waffenfarbe. Perhaps you want to comment in that debate. To save the article from deletion, a good idea would be to cite reliable sources so the content can be attributed. You should probably make it clear that the term is used in English-language literature about the German army. Thank you, Kusma (討論) 10:59, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:Toamasina div.png
Thanks for uploading Image:Toamasina div.png. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 00:09, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] image uploading
I noticed that you recently questioned Pd_THOR about why he reverted your beautiful image of a blue eye back to the original image of a blue eye. I do not believe there is a rule against it, but it is a general practice to upload a new image under a unique name (and thereby not over-writing another user's image). Then after you've uploaded it, place your image in the article(s) that you feel it is needed in and remove the other image from the article(s). Your blue eye image is a very nice. Thank you for uploading it. Jecowa 04:39, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Maps of Madagascar
Hi,
I've seen you uploaded many maps of subdivisions of Madagascar under GFDL.
I would like to encourage you to upload this very valuable work to Commons:, so that other Wikipedias would enjoy them (e.g. mg: has not yet any map-making community).
Many thanks for this great job and I hope you'll be interested in helping us a bit further :)
Best regards from France,

[edit] Possibly unfree Image:Dead Marxist.png
An image that you uploaded or altered, Image:Dead Marxist.png, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images because its copyright status is disputed. If the image's copyright status cannot be verified, it may be deleted. You may find more information on the image description page. You are welcome to add comments to its entry at the discussion if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. -- lucasbfr talk 15:37, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
- This is related to the above nomination, where an editor expressed concerns that the images might be in fact unfree. Can you please clear that up? Thanks a lot! -- lucasbfr talk 15:37, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Dead Marxist.png
Hey, I know you're trying to make a point, but this image is still a derivative work of a copyrighted image. That means that it is not a free image, and thus cannot be in your userspace. Natalie (talk) 18:00, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
- Both images of which your image is a derivative work are copyrighted, and both (Image:Cheicon.jpg and Image:CheHigh.jpg) can be freely used to "propagate the memory of Che Guevara". Somehow I doubt this is what they had in mind. The image on your userpage is currently being discussed as a possibly unfree image - a link can be found on the image page. Natalie (talk) 21:39, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
- Uh, that same quote says "I am categorically against the exploitation of Che's image for the promotion of products such as alcohol, or for any purpose that denigrates the reputation of Che." I think a picture of his face with a big "no" sign through it would count as denigrating the man's memory. And the context of his statement about social justice makes it quite clear that he means the sort of social justice to which Che subscribed. Natalie (talk) 22:28, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] McCain
Hi, 8thstar. I noticed that you changed the image at the top of the John McCain article. However, there was no edit summary, so I'm not sure why. Anyway, there's been discussion at the talk page for that article, regarding which image would be best. The image that you inserted is not the best, because its at least four years old. There's a photo from last month that many of us prefer. Would this one be okay with you?
Ferrylodge (talk) 03:10, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] hey
I don't know if you noticed, but I used your McCain userbox for a few months. :D Thanks Enigma msg! 18:32, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
At "242px" your userboxes pile on top of each other, unreadable. It took about "780px" to unpile them on my screen. Andyvphil (talk) 03:01, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

The task force dedicated to creating and improving articles on all German cities and municipalities is happy to announce that there are now (at least) stub articles for all municipalities of Germany. Now the task force is looking for help in fleshing these out a little bit. The current phase of activity for the task force is to copy in infoboxes from the articles in German Wikipedia. If you want to help, even just for a few articles, look at the instructions and links here
There are now way over 26.000 articles tagged as part of our Wikiproject and many still need either an importance or a quality assessment. Also there are many more out there that do need to be tagged like approx 8000 municipalities. If you would like to help take a browse through Articles needing Importance assessment or Articles needing a basic quality assessment. |

[edit] McCain userbox
Hi 8thstar. How would you feel about substituting this image into the McCain userbox? I made it myself from the image you're currently using. I think the blue background looks a lot better.Ferrylodge (talk) 16:26, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

- Thanks for your message. Do you think that the image with the light green background is an improvement at the top of the John McCain article, compared to the image with the black background?Ferrylodge (talk) 23:14, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

- Glad to hear it. I felt the same way.Ferrylodge (talk) 23:32, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] FP image
I'd bet that's because of a move to Commons, where the WP FP tag probably doesn't exist. In any case, it should be fixed now. Thegreenj 23:29, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
