Please do not use insulting language in edit logs. It is inappropriate. Tb (talk) 14:10, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
- I want to reiterate Tb's request. We have a portion of our manual of style, [this] which clearly states that we should not capitalize pronouns that are referencing any deity. So your edits were appropriate, but your edit summaries were not WP:CIVIL. Please try to be more respectful in the future. We are a community here, and we should all be working together, even people with differing beliefs. -Andrew c [talk] 15:26, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] RFC/USER discussion concerning you (89.242.164.114)
Hello, 89.242.164.114. Please be aware that a request for comments has been filed concerning your conduct on Wikipedia. The RFC entry can be found by your name in this list, and the actual discussion can be found at Wikipedia:Requests for comment/89.242.164.114, where you may want to participate. -- Tb (talk) 18:10, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] "normal rules"
There is no universal convention about capitalizing pronouns referring to the deity in English. Some style manuals require it, some prohibit it. Wikipedia happens to prohibit it, but denigrating users by saying they aren't folling "normal English rules" is not allowed. It is simple enough to edit without insulting others; can you please do that? Toning down the insult is not sufficient; you must stop the insult entirely. There is no acceptible level of rudeness. Tb (talk) 18:35, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
- Your use of 'the deity' illustrates why it is important that this rule is followed. Unless you also think pronouns referring to every deity should be capitalised (I'm using you in the plural sense here rather than talking about you Tb)
-
- That's just the common phrase in style manuals. Nobody who was aware of the policy was objecting to it, only to your language. Further edit comments would do well to refer specifically to WP:MOSCAPS because many people are unaware of the policy here and its reasons. Tb (talk) 14:21, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] You are not allowed to attack or taunt editors just for choosing to believe in a certain religion or Deity
You are not allowed to attack or taunt editors just for choosing to believe in a certain religion or Deity of their choice, as is their human right. Not in an edit comment, nor anywhere else. This is clearly prohibited by the policy on No Personal attacks. 141.152.29.203 (talk) 20:58, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
- I wasn't attacking anyones belief in religion, I was attacking their bigoted belief that their god is in some way special.

- I apologise. Don't worry I'll make any future edit summaries less controversial.
