Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. One of the core policies of Wikipedia is that articles should always be written from a neutral point of view. A contribution you made to National Rail appears to carry a non-neutral point of view, and your edit may have been changed or reverted to correct the problem. Please remember to observe our core policies. Thank you. Gwernol 21:16, 26 January 2008 (UTC)

Please do not add commentary or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to National Rail. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you. Gwernol 21:36, 26 January 2008 (UTC)

Please stop. If you continue to violate Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy by adding commentary and your personal analysis into articles, as you did to National Rail, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Gwernol 21:57, 26 January 2008 (UTC)

Unless you can find an independent, published reliable source then its just your opinion. There are multiple other points of view about the British Rail privatization and presenting one specific point of view as factual isn't allowed, per Wikipedia's policy. Your most recent edit, which is factual is appropriate however. Thanks, Gwernol 22:17, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
Unfortunately, your subsequent edit here is not acceptable. First, Wikipedia articles are not valid sources - I know this seems counter-intuitive, but since anyone can edit Wikipedia we cannot accept it as a source, just as forums and blogs are not reliable sources either. Second, what you are writing is still original research - you are taking two facts and synthesizing a connection between them. You need to find an independent, published source that draws the conclusion that you are implying, and you need to introduce that conclusion by saying something like: "The Daily Mail noted that although the train operating companies compete against each other, National Rail is marketed using the slogan "British rail companies working together"." - assuming your source was The Daily Mail. With regard to your comments on User talk:Gwernol: Please see Wikipedia's no personal attacks policy. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. [edit] Your recent edits

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button Image:Signature_icon.png located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 22:39, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
