Hi Bert, and welcome to Wikipedia! I'd like to encourage you to register, since you seem to be editing regularly. This will aid everyone in interacting with you regarding your edits. In regards to Korean Air Flight 007 conspiracy theories, I'd like to suggest that you refrain from adding links to your organization's website. Wikipedia is not a forum for promoting your organization, its web site, nor is it a forum for advocating your particular theories on the incident. Wikipedia has a number of guidelines and policies which you probably take a few minutes and review. These include, conflict-of-interest, our strong policy on "original research" {a category which some of your contributions seem to fall into), verifiability, and what constitutes reliable sources, as far as our articles go. You also seem unfamiliar with how to add citations, so you might want to check out our footnoting and citation templates instructions.

Basically, it comes down to this: if you're going to write about a particular theory, we want references the show how others, meaning mainstream media, are writing about that theory. So, for instance, has your organization's efforts been covered by mainstream, reliable media? Can you point to online articles from mainstream media that cover this? That's the kind of reference we're looking for. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask, either here or on my talk page. Discussion pertaining directly to the article should be on the article's talk page. Happy editing! Akradecki 21:42, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

Akradecki, Thanks for contacting me. I'll refrain from linking to our website from now on. I just made a link to it, but it was to I.C.A.O. charting from Voice Recorder that showed the altitude change upward to 38,250 ft. I've got a lot ot learn about Wikipedia editing. Thanks again. Bert
Hi AKradecki, It's Bert again. O.K. i think i've come to the basic problem for me. Most of my contributions are original research ones. The great majority of books, research monographs etc on KAL 007 were done before the second ICAO report while I've focused on the second and after,. The few books etc. after the second (1993) focus on Conspiracy, and that the aspect of intentionally initiating the flight of KAL 007 for intelligence purposes - which I do not agree with. Most of my research has been based on the the Information Papers attached to the 1993 report (Supplied by the Russian Feration) which scarcely anyone knows about but which are in the public domain. These contain the info about the resucue missions, the level flight of KAL 007 after missile detonation, the escpape of 007 from the Soviet support fighters, etc. When I have linked to my own website, it was not for my personal analysis (primarily) but for the Federation supplied transcripts contained in the website. So I don't yet know what to do about this. Have to do some thinking aboiut this. Bert
Mr. Radecki, Alan, I hope that I am not bothering you too much. I looked up some of the info provided about you, looked through some of the articles you started for Wiki, some that, besides aviation, you have an interest, I think, in Christianity, then saw the article you started about Reuben Archer Torrey, then bells began to ring. I was close friends with Torrey's grandson, Archer, who did most of his work, as an Anglican (Episcopal on loan) priest at Jesus Abbey in Korea. Archer's son, Ben Torrey, was my student at Sarah Lawrence College, and a priest of our Church. I am his bishop. Ben is now in Korea (on loan, sort of) working with a project related to North Korea and has been my close friend since the early 70's. Ben, until recently, has also been the U.S. Director for the International Committee for the Rescue of KAL 007 Survivors (don't worry, I'm not going to link to our KAL 007 website!). Here is a picture from our Church's website (old and on the second page) of Ben as celebrant at a wedding - http://www.eacna.org/ . Thought you might be interested. Bert exie@netvision.net.il
Hi Bert, thanks for your comments and your understanding. I think this subject has a lot of potential on Wikipedia, just needs to be done right. It's my plan to dig deep into it and fix all the ref issues, and expand the main article, but only after I'm done with the work I'm currently involved in on the article EgyptAir Flight 990, another highly controversial subject, and one where a lot of resources are available, but no one has taken the time to read through them and come up with the proper referencing (for instance, the Egptian CAA report alone is 223 pages!). A quick question for later...these public domain reports...are they available online in their original form? Akradecki 13:44, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
(Continuing after my wife called me to breakfast....) Interesting connection on Archer. I was a student at Moody, and spent many an hour in chapel in Torrey-Gray Auditorium! Akradecki 15:19, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

Hi again, Alan! I just realized after all this time that you had posted the response above. I'm still new at this thing. Isn't that something. You were a student at Moody Bible Institute! I let Ben Torrey know of the connection with Moody and the "editor for the KAL 007 articles". Ben is know in Korea setting up a Study Center for the opening up of North Korea to the Gospel. His father, Archer Torrey, until his recent death, was the Director of Jesus Abbey, an interdenominational Center, somewhere north of Seoul (just realized I already told you that!). I think that we have another connection, a sad one. You are working on EA990. The New Rochelle, New York pediatrician, Dr. John Shelpert, who delivered our oldest daughter Charisma (now 31 years old) was on that flight with his wife. It was sad to hear of their death knowing how it had taken place. The best to you and your wife and your whole family! Bert
