[edit] Your edits to Dark Ages
Your many edits to Dark Ages have been reverted by regular contributors as a lunatic fringe theory. More politely, WP:V#Exceptional claims require exceptional sources certainly applies. Please discuss your points on the talk page, rather than just stuffing them back into the piece without any justification. If they have validity, you will be able to agree a form of words, possibly including a link to a {{main}} article elsewhere, for the article. --Old Moonraker (talk) 15:55, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
- I have raised the issue on the article's talk page. Please contribute to the discussion there, rather than your current policy, which is liable to result in a block because of your apparent contravention of the three revert rule.--Old Moonraker (talk) 08:17, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
One man's lunatic is another's genius. I did not endorse the theory, I simply alerted the readers to its existence. How can you or anyone describe a theory as lunatic which you have not yourself examined? My opinion, too, was that Illig's ideas had to be wrong, though after several years this changed when I realized that neither the Byzantine area nor the Islamic, could produce anything substantial for the three centuries Illig questioned. If it's seen as way-out, then why not include it in a section on Fringe Theories? I think ideas should be judged only after they have been aired and examined. When has anything new ever come from suppression?
- Thanks for the reply. All these points are valid. Please take them to the discussion that has just started on the article's talk page: they are a bit wasted here, where it's just us reading them. --Old Moonraker (talk) 14:36, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
- Reverted again, pending some justification at the discussion. --Old Moonraker (talk) 08:04, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
