[edit] Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/London

I appreciate you're acting in good faith but it's best if featured articles are nominated by people who have worked closely on them. This way they can give reasoned replies to reviewers and be familiar with the sources to make any suggested improvements. Someone who hasn't worked on the article can't provide this input, so the FAC rumbles on until the opposes become so overwhelming that the article is failed, taking a lot of reviewers' time. While the London article is reasonable, it is not FAC quality as is evidenced by the lage number of tags on it asking for citation and verification. The best course may be to withdraw the nomination, which you can do by typing "withdraw" and signing with "~~~~" on the nomination page. Thanks for your time, --ROGER DAVIES talk 19:30, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the swift response :) If I can trouble you to confirm withdrawal on the nomination page, I can do the necessary admin stuff. Thanks for your time, --ROGER DAVIES talk 19:46, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
It's permanent I'm afraid. It looks like there have been high levels of vandalism whenever it's unprotected for long. --ROGER DAVIES talk 20:07, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
  • Hi and wellcome, ditto to the above and why don't you join in the fun and sign up? No cost—much reward!--GrahamColmTalk 19:40, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
I am joining in the "fun" without signing up. I don't know what is meant by that. Your messege reads just like an advertisement on the TV or the internet. Please don't bother me again. 86.29.141.77 (talk) 19:42, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] WP:UKGEO assessment

Hello, and thanks for the contact.

The WP:UKGEO assessment scale was set up with the intention that settlements are given priority according to their population size. I could probably dig out the discussion if you desired it, but I know from memory, User:Epbr123 was involved with this. I'm all for Neilston getting greater recognition, but I have to take the objective view too (not to mention it skews the monthly progression figures a little too).

On Ivybridge, I'd love to see this article pass GA. There are a few issues with the prose and reference formatting that need addressing, but it looks like a serious candidate. I'll try to get a static image and do an article-wide copyedit. Hope that helps, --Jza84 |  Talk  22:25, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
