From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for continuing tendentious edits for which a similar IP was blocked - obviously the same editor.. Please stop. You're welcome to make useful contributions after the block expires. If you believe this block is unjustified you may contest this block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below. BLACKKITE 09:40, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

This blocked user (block log | autoblocks | rangeblocks | unblock | contribs | deleted contribs) has asked to be unblocked, but an administrator has reviewed and declined this request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock request while you are blocked.

Request reason: "An unregistered person is entitled to edit, I only made 1 edit to a particular page but have been blocked. That person changed my edit then blocked me so I couldn't respond, even on a talk page. Please unblock me"

Decline reason: "Due to the dynamic nature of this IP editor, and the disruptive nature of prior edits, this short term block is appropriate. — Jayron32.talk.contribs 13:16, 18 January 2008 (UTC)"

Please make any further unblock requests by using the {{unblock}} template. However, abuse of the template may result in your talk page being protected.

[edit] Note from blocking admin

As you will see from history, a shifting IP from this (quite narrow) range has been continually reverting back to a version that has no consensus (and also on other articles). The previous IPs have been blocked for 3RR, so I have temporarily reblocked per WP:RBI. However, if the reviewing admin wishes to unblock in this case I have no problem with that. It isn't very fair to reverse an edit and then block someone so they can't respond on the talk page or anywhere else or even suggest another approach. I have made no attempt to hide who I am as I am not registered and I guess this site shows the IP, which I assume changes on every web visit?

  • I believe it is fair in this situation; when you have attempted to insert that particular edit many times over the last few weeks, and been reverted every time (with explanation), and eventually blocked, yet persist in doing the same thing? BLACKKITE 12:20, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

According that what I have read, unregistered users can edit pages. I made those edits and it was discussed on another page where many people agreed. One person changed the edits, but did not really say why he or she disagreed. I don't know why you changed the edit either, as you have not said. It is not fair to change an edit and then block the person you are in dispute with.

Yes unregistered users can edit pages, but they just like registered users cannot make major changes as you have tried to do on these templates without first achieving consensus in talk pages for the proposed change, this has been explained to you before, dispite this you have continued to insert your prefered version, dispite numerous objections.--Padraig (talk) 14:45, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
Likewise, unregistered users can use article talk pages to work collaboratively with other users. That you refuse to do so is the source of the trouble here. --Jayron32.talk.contribs 19:13, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
