Welcome

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Here are some other hints and tips:

  • I would recommend that you get a username. You don't have to log in to read or edit articles on Wikipedia, but creating an account is quick, free and non-intrusive, requires no personal information, and there are many benefits of having a username. (If you edit without a username, your IP address is used to identify you instead.)
  • When using talk pages, please sign your name at the end of your messages by typing four tildes (~~~~). This will automatically produce your username (or IP address) and the date.

If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or type {{helpme}} on this talk page and a user will help you as soon as possible. I will answer your questions as far as I can. Again, welcome, and I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian.

[edit] Britain

Actually throughout all of philately and stamp collecting the terms Britain and Great Britain are used exclusively to the exclusion of United Kingdom. So if anything a piped link would be correct. Actually Britain, or Great Britain, IS three countries. ww2censor 03:20, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] July 2007

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although we invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Mac OS X v10.5, was not constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. The content you added more appropriately belongs on the Windows Vista page. There was nothing directly relevant to Mac OS X v10.5. In addition, it was unsourced, which is grounds for removal by itself. Cheers! Ratiocinate (tc) 22:41, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
I understand what you're saying. The main problem I had with it being there was that the section detailed reactions to Apple's decision to delay shipment. While Vista was significantly delayed, it has almost nothing to do with the section. If, on the other hand, there were significant concerns that OS X v10.5 was suffering from the same problems that plagued Vista, and there have been notable and reliable sources documenting these concerns, then it would be appropriate to mention it. As it stands, the content you added made no connection to Mac OS X v10.5 at all, which is ultimately the reason why I removed it. Ratiocinate (tc) 01:43, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
