Thanks for experimenting with Wikipedia. The links you added to the page The Game (rapper) have been removed. Please do not add commercial links—or links to your own private websites—to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or a mere collection of external links. You are, however, encouraged to add content instead of links. Hi Tony - while I can appreciate that you wish to provide information to readers, the best way to do so is to incorporate content (text) into the article itself. External links really don't help an article much - especially since Wikipedia is aiming for a print version (in which links wouldn't be very useful).
Generally, external links really should be discussed first on the article's talk page before inserting them into the article. Editors should reach a consensus regarding their value - only then should they be added.
Adding the same link or links to multiple articles, and also adding links to sites that you are affiliated with is considered spamming. Please review WP:SPAM and WP:EL for guidelines and policy regarding external links.
I have to remove the links again for now - again, please use the talk page to reach a consensus about the links before re-adding them. Let me know if you have any further concerns or questions. Thanks --AbsolutDan (talk) 02:32, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
