If you want to delete a page don't delete all the text and save the page. You should use Propose it for deletion and then editors will vote for it to be deleted(but I think you have sign up to do that) then after 5 days an adim should delete it. See these pages for more info on deletion policy:


But I don't think deletion is required for Danny McNamara form what you said. I think it would require a POV check or maybe some attetion instead of deletion. You might want to edit and talk to other editors on the article talk page about that.
