Simple: Holy Spirit = Common Sense. (not religion!) To break it down the word "holy" means special or something set apart as being special. Sense is attitude. Then we have "Special Attitute" = Common Sense. Applications of this are reasoning and thinking things through logically. Common sense would be to look in both directions BEFORE you start crossing the street. Many times children have not developed their sense of "common sense" and need guidance. Sometimes this also applies to teenagers. As adults, usually over the age of about 30, we have developed our "common sense" well enough to make most decisions correctly and don't get into too much trouble. The more you can use good logical "common sense" the better overall results you will get in life. I like to think of the "Father" as that of "life experiences" and the "Son" as "practical knowledge" = therefore the three are related and become a "Special Trio", which is sometimes referred to as the "Holy Trinity". Now if you apply "common sense" properly you will get good "life experiences" which then developes "practical knowledge". Those that are very "practical" usually get along in life quite well and then have good "life experiences". Some people get all the breaks and others nothing seems to work out. Its all in attitude and that of the Special Attitude of "common sense". In this way then your "life experiences' is your Father who teaches you practical things in life that you can actually use constructively. The more you can use "practical knowledge" constructively and productively the easier life becomes and the more money you make. General Knowledge is NOT "practical knowledge". Give me "practical knowledge" and I will beat you every time, no matter how much General Knowledge you have (i.e. College Degree). A college degree is of no use if you do not know how to apply it and if you don't have "common sense". Practical Knowledge (the Son) beats General Knowledge every time. Common Sense ("Holy Spirit") beats general knowledge every time. Good life experiences (the Father) beats general knowledge every time. Give me a person that is practical and can apply "common sense" every time - and I will discard the College person with the 4 year degree! What I have noticed is that even with a four year College Degree, most are still basically worthless (not practical). Now isn't that a different answer = nothing to do with religion: just good practical useful information. --Doug Coldwell 18:30, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
