Can you please explain why you vandalized and then congratulated Metros232 for catching it? Please see WP:POINT. (Please resopnd on my talk page) —Mets501 (talk) 12:54, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

the incident was a planned test of vandalism response times. A page was vandalized lightly, changing only one word. The time until a revert was then counted. It was a very, very good result. --84.64.42.43 12:57, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
So you were in violation of WP:POINT. Don't try that again; it may result in blocking. —Mets501 (talk) 12:59, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
The test was in fact part of research into a newspaper article detailing the work of Wikipedia. I will be sure to add that while wikipedia's administrators are hard-working, they are also arrogant. --84.64.42.43 13:02, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
Notifying you of policy violation was not arrogance. And let me ask you something. Would you vandalize your local park looking to test police response times? —Mets501 (talk) 13:04, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia 84.64.42.43. Thanks for your interest in the site and our anti-vandalism work. One journo to another, though, Wikipedia's editors and administrators work very hard to revert vandalism and keep the site as clean as possible. Mets is a good guy and a good administrator who works very hard and it's really inappropriate to insult him for doing his job. We aren't too keen on people conducting research by vandalising, so it would be appreciated if you didn't do it anymore. Good luck with your article. As I am a "subject" of this article/experiment, I'd be interested to see it when published, please let me know when it is and send a URL to it if you could. Metros232 20:02, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
