[edit] Minnesota

Hello. The information you have added to this article is interesting and detailed, but it is too detailed for an article already very long. An overview such as this cannot accommodate several paragraphs on each ethnicity of the state's people. Moreover, the information lacks sources and citation to sources is essential to any featured article. But even with sources it would not belong on this page. It has however been added to Demographics of Minnesota and you could help by adding sources to the information there. Thanks for your contribution, but please do not add it again to the general article as there appears to be a general consensus that it is too detailed for the Minnesota page. I was going to say the same thing. I have touched it up a bit and added a fact tag as well. -Ravedave 01:34, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
You may also be mistaken about when Germans came to Minnesota. There was no European settlement of the state in 1608, and it is very unlikely that any Germans came to Minnesota as the result of the Napoleonic wars. There was settlement in the United States then, but not in Minnesota. But many areas of the state have very strong German heritage as the result of immigration from about 1850 on.
