Currently, our articles on, f'rinstance, the U.S. 3rd Infantry Division use the abbreviation "3rd" for "third". However, some of the official US Army sites, e.g. [1], uses "3d" for "third" (and, incidentaly, "2d" for "second"). Others use the "2nd" and "3rd" format. Which is correct?
