[edit] Louth
Hi. Lu is indeed the correct name for Louth in Irish. Lughbaidh is no longer the official name in use - it is now considered archaic. If you wish you challenge this, please try and gain a consensus on the talk page rather than just changing it without explaining why. Dan K 12:24, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
-
- Look, I don't disagree where the name Lughbaidh comes from, and have never done. However, the fact remains that Lughbaidh is NOT the name Irish name of the county or the village any more.
-
- You will see I have placed references on the page from Britannica and Irish Tourist board highlighting the fact that Lú is indeed the Irish name. May I suggest you also pay attention to the name of the county's football side, and how it is referred to on road signs across the country. I for one am fed up of changing your edits back.
