Please take more care over what you describe as vandalism, good faith edits should not be called vandalism even if you feel they're extremely unhelpful. Restepc (talk) 16:39, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the nutch, actually I can't see good faith in the user's repeated reverts or more exact in his aggressive behaviour towards others. As an outstanding person (who hasn't contributed to the article or the technology) I am surprised about the grade of stubbornness/aggression that I found, I don't think that the user is genuinely interested in the article but in a victory over alleged "enemies". Please have a look at this edit, what is your advice? - 83.254.208.192 (talk)
He is not being entirely civil no, but his edits to the article itself would not, I think, be considered vandalism by most. I'll try to sort out the dispute over the next few days, it depends quite a lot on what Jacob has to say about his possible conflict of interest. Oh yes, do you mean http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/nudge for nutch? :) Restepc (talk) 17:14, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
Yes that's the nudge I ment! :) In any case thanks for the feedback, I think I will help cleaning up the article once the current issues have been resolved. - 83.254.208.192 (talk) 17:33, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

I noticed you removed the merge tag on Reverse Ajax, I had considered using that as the base article to list and compare these things, as it already does....but think if that happened it would need a rename, the term seems to be even less notable than comet. What's your view; that we move comet etc into push technology, or Reverse Ajax, or an entirely new article....or something else? BTW, I'm job hunting at the moment (which is probably why I'm spending so much time on wikipedia), I'm tempted to quote you on my CV :p Restepc (talk) 14:55, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

My initial understanding of Comet was that it's a streaming concept and that it's closely related to the 'push technology' article. Meanwhile, I see it as 90% Ajax + 10% streaming/pushing.... so merging it with the Ajax article would be my other suggestion. I really don't have a strong opinion on where to merge it too. It could be good to get someone who works on the Ajax article, to verify that the term 'Comet' is notable and more than an Ajax buzzword (btw AOL's Web AIM API uses an Ajax 'long poll' to achieve the same [1]). Good luck with your job hunt, feel free to quote me regarding conflict resolution skills! :) - 83.254.208.192 (talk) 16:25, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
