[edit] Re: addition of historyinfocus-london.co.uk external links

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. --Siobhan Hansa 16:26, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

It's no problem, just please don't do it again. Lots of people are unaware of or misunderstand Wikipedia's mission to produce a GFDL encyclopedia, and we have unfortunately had to ask people who want to link from articles to their own sites not to do so directly. If you believe your site adds a unique and encyclopedic aspect to an article and you cannot add the material directly, please list the link on the talk page for the article, and ask other editors to look at it and add it to the article for you if they agree it is useful. Of course what we really want is content! Any writing you have that is encyclopedic and verifiable would be great in the articles themselves and your photos will be most welcome at Wiki Commons. --Siobhan Hansa 02:22, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
