[edit] Your edit to John Christie (producer)
Your recent edit to John Christie (producer) (diff) was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to recognize and repair vandalism to Wikipedia articles. If the bot reverted a legitimate edit, please accept my humble creator's apologies – if you bring it to the attention of the bot's owner, we may be able to improve its behavior. Click here for frequently asked questions about the bot and this warning. // AntiVandalBot 17:32, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
- When there are two articles (like John Christie (producer) and John Christie (Glyndebourne)) which cover the same subject the best course of action is to merge them. Blanking one of them (which here might have been done with the best of intentions) is not a good idea, and is sometimes done by vandals (see Wikipedia:No blank pages for more information on why blank pages are not a good idea). I have proposed a merger for these two articles at Wikipedia:Proposed mergers.
- Also remember to sign your posts on a talk page, it helps keeping track of the discussion. If you have not already done so, now might be a good time to read the Introduction to learn more about editing Wikipedia. Best of luck and happy editing! --Oden 09:54, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

- I self-reverted (see Talk:John Christie (producer)). You might want to add references to John Christie (Glyndebourne) in order to avoid someone tagging it {{unreferenced}}. Happy editing! --Oden 16:35, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

- Oden has also asked me re refs - google doesn't turn up anything and I have no other resources so I will pass on this one. It would be quite easy to write an article on George C (Glyndebourne). roundhouse 18:29, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] James Hunt (judge)
Thanks for your continued contributions, but two comments, if I may - firstly, you can use the "preview" function to avoid a succession of minor edits to the same article (which fills up the edit history unnecssarily). Secondly, you do not have to remove redlinks, like fourth class degree or Midland and Oxford Circuit - these sort of things deserve articles, or redirects to other articles if they exist. -- ALoan (Talk) 19:26, 15 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Mark Ramprakash
Thanks for the useful edits to this article. I don't think you needed to change "earnt", though: it's a perfectly acceptable form in British English. (See Wiktionary:earnt) Loganberry (Talk) 13:32, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Use of 'Preview' and 'Edit summary'
I would like to thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. However, it is recommended that you use the preview button before you save; this helps you find any errors you have made, and prevents clogging up recent changes and the page history. Thanks again.
When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:
The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.
Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. -- MightyWarrior 11:03, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
