I am concerned that this bi-og contains opinionated negatives and has been posted mischievously and inappropriately, and seeks to damage Sir Norman Bettison's reputation. I understand these go against your own guidelines, ref biographies of living persons? Not only that, but recent postings by the mischievous user also posted the following insult: "..and a greedy vain moron who keeps changing this page to a bland biog.." which surely cannot be acceptable to your publishing policy. I have been attempting to revert this to a factual bi-og, adapted from the official version which is published and available to view on the West Yorkshire Police website. However, I have now been prevented from doing so due to "vandalism". Surely, it is our official version which should remain while you investigate this issue, and not the mischievous version which focuses almost entirely on very negative opinions. Thank you for your assistance.

Further to my message below, please can I request that my IP address is now unblocked to allow me to publish the factual, official version, from the West Yorkshire Police website, and replace the one containing assertions and focusing on negative and controversial issues, which are down to opinion, and would appear to contravene your own policy on Living Persons Bi-Ogs

Actually, you were blocked for edit warring on the page; in a situation such as this, it's far better to discuss individual issues on the article discussion page rather than repeatedly reverting to a specific version. You may note that the article has been taken into hand by several other editors who have removed the vandalism you refer to, and who have edited it into a more balanced form.
In addition, generally copy-and-pastes from other websites (in your case this page) are frowned upon on Wikipedia.
Should you feel there are more issues that need to be addressed with regards to the biographies of living persons guidelines, please make a post at the BLP noticeboard when your block expires. Thanks. Tony Fox (arf!) 19:21, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
